Canadian Bank Note Company Limited is seeking a highly proficient System Support Technician who will be responsible for providing system support working on a variety of hardware and software platforms and peripherals for internal systems.
Note: The selected candidate must possess Secret level security clearance.

Roles and Responsibilities include:
- Provide 1st point of contact for customers.
- Technical Phone and On-site support.
- Dispatch issues to software and database support teams.
- Install and configure system components (hardware and software).
- Train operators on system usage.
- Hardware repair (ex. replace hard-disks, power supply, UPS batteries, printer maintenance).
- Software troubleshooting (ex. correcting installation or configuration problems).
- Fault isolation (ex. hardware, software, network, database).
- Maintain system inventory including spare parts and consumables.
- Systems Preventive Maintenance.
- Troubleshooting and problem resolution.
- College Diploma (minimum 2 year) in Computer Systems or equivalent.
- At least 2 years experience in providing technical support directly to end users covering the following:
- Hardware: Desktop workstations and servers, Tape Storage Devices (internal/external), Scanners, Commercial Inkjet and LaserJet printers
- Software: Oracle DBMS (preferably version 8), Windows 2000 Server/2000 Professional/NT, Linux, Web Servers, Web Application Servers
- Networking: LAN Support, TCP/IP networks, ODBC, Routers, Hubs, Switches, Modems
- Client Server Applications & Web Applications
- Communication directly with customers
- Use of Help Desk tools and trouble ticket tracking processes
- Understanding of support agreements and their implied service levels
- Strong understanding of deadlines and commitment to schedules.
