More and more, organisations are moving away from the waterfall model of software development and instead choosing an 'agile' way of working. Indeed, early adopters are now replacing agile with 'DevOps', the newest trend in development and implementation.
Sprinting even faster
Set blocks of time, known as sprints, are designated to develop and deliver certain functionalities. While sprints are currently 12 weeks long in some organisations, DevOps will reduce this to only 2 to 3 weeks. This has consequences for the execution of IT security testing. It will be necessary to test smaller parts of an application more frequently. It is important to conduct an integral test of the completed application after a series of smaller ones, in order to reveal potential hazards that might occur as different parts of an application interact.
There are several ways for Secura to employ its IT security knowledge in agile projects. For example, our consultants can be part of one or more development teams and work on the development from a perspective of IT security. You could also choose to bring in our IT security expertise as independent experts, by testing every sprint and the final result.
