RFID is part and parcel of our every day lives. We use it to travel, pay, and access our offices, and it is integrated into our passports. We assume that RFID is secure, but in the past, that assumption has not always borne out.
The hack that allowed OV-chip cards to be cloned is well known. These issues are literally built into the RFID chip itself. Equally, the implementation of secure chips can go very wrong.
