'Business services' is a broad description; as such, it covers a wide range of organisations. What these have in common is that the focus of their efforts is always service provision and that said service provision is almost always supported by IT.
The provision of business services is generally strongly based on trust. Consider, for example, the data and information involved in legal services, actuarial services, and accountancy, or in recruitment agencies and management consulting firms. This is confidential data, which must be adequately protected.
