Creation of an Android Applications' dataset

• Goal: Create a tool that is able to populate a dataset from different Android Application Stores based on specific conditions.

As a student, you have:

Education:

• An HBO or WO level of education in the relevant domain.

Technical skills:

• Experience with Python;
• Basic understanding of the Android Ecosystem;
• Experience with version control systems (Gitlab).

Soft skills:

• The ability to work well in an international team environment;
• Good communication skills
• Organized.
• Clear documentation writing skills.

The project you will be working on:

Android related researches in a vast amount of cases require a high volume of applications to be studied and analyzed. This has led to a repeating task of finding a pool of applications that satisfy specific conditions each time. Existing tools for bulk downloading of Android applications are either lacking fine grain controls or are falling behind with the constant updates of the different Application Stores or have other limitations.

A tool that could solve this issue, not only it would be used by our consultants in R&D projects but would be a great asset for all researchers in the Android Ecysystem.
